Owner/Head Coach (CFL2)
I grew up playing sports but got injured in High School and couldn't play anymore. (Concussions in football) This was devastating for me since I was so active, over the next couple of years I of course spiraled down the wrong path and wasn't active at all. After High School I got married to my AMAZING wife Melanie and started our family. I worked on a Drill Rig for many years and then went in to the Powersports business as a parts consultant working my way up to General Manager over the next 7 years. I "thought" I always wanted to be a Police Officer and help others so I left the Powersports business and became a Deputy. I did this for 4 years where I worked in the Elko County Jail the entire time. I can't say this was the best experience I had, but I can say that I GREW a ton as a Law Enforcement Officer. I gained endless friendships and mentally grew up finally. This is where I found "CrossFit", while attending the POST Academy TO Turner use to have us do these cool workouts with a little bit of everything then at the end of the Academy we did a big obstacle course which I absolutely thrived on! I didn't know it was CrossFit at the time but I found out a few months later when I was introduced to our local CrossFit Box.
After finding our local CrossFit Box because of some amazing friends I showed up and was amazed at the athletes they had! I mean the women athletes that could lift way more than I could and do gymnastic movements I never thought to even try. These women were kicking my butt everyday, but I kept coming back and progressing! This is where the you gain a better understanding of who you are and where you want to go, this sport challenged me not only physically but mentally and that is what I needed to continue a fitness routine. There is never a boring moment at the Box, there is always someone to cheer for and as long as you continue to show up results come even if it takes time to see your progression.
As I stated earlier the Box is never boring, we cheer for others as they progress down their fitness journey, we watch the light go on in their minds when they figure something out and that makes me extremely grateful to be their coach and to own the gym they call home.
